SS4 cuts DV camera connection... repeatable
with the latest version of SS (32-bit), there is a problem where SS cuts the connection to my Sony mini-DV camera after a short period of up-time. this happens *every* time. this did *not* happen with the v3. I have to relaunch SS to get the connection back but it only lasts minutes before SS cuts the connection again.
error displayed:
Error from camera "DCR-PC120E", it will be closed.
(Failed to obtain DV video frame 47530,12 Couldn't allocate memory)
bug in SS4?

Hi Gregory, this certainly sounds like a bug, though it's not one we've seen as yet. We'll investigate and get back to you. When this happens, SecuritySpy should attempt to repeatedly re-connect to the device and it should come back online, are you seeing this?
Is the error code always the same?
It's related to audio capture - do you need audio for this device? -
the error code is always the same.
I'd prefer to keep audio capture...
more relevant info ?:
for security reasons, I have an account on my Mac set up specifically to run SS. most of the time, this account and SS are running 'in the background'; i.e., my own personal account is active in the foreground.
if an error occurs while my account is active, SS doesn't re-establish the connection to the camera. if I switch back to the account running SS, there's an error 'beep' and SS re-establishes the connection to the camera; *possibly* only if the error log and/or the camera window is/are visible -- which was the case a few minutes ago -- I'll try to test these scenarios. I normally run SS with the camera (and log) windows closed to save cpu. -
switched back to the SS account this morning after it stopped displaying the Sony camera. it didn't automatically reconnect, and the error in the log was different:
"2016/07/20 09:08:49: No video from DV device "DCR-PC120E" - make sure a video source is connected to the device and that it is set to DV-out mode. 4.0.2,792,800 The operation timed out."
relaunching SS connected immediately to the camera. -
with 4.0.4, still losing the Mini-DV connection:

4.0.5 seems to have solved the problem. thank you.
