Is there a way to not send an email if it was a family member that triggered the alert

I understand that facial recognition is not available but is there a way to eliminate alerts based on some other factor.

Use Case: Camera at a door that triggers an alert/email anytime a human is at the door.

Maybe a two factor trigger: Human at the front door (SecuritySpy) and some sort of mac I recognition? Not certain if there is a bridge or a piece of software that would send an alert based on a persons cell phone macID.

  • Both Apple Home and Home Assistant, which SecuritySpy supports, has person-level presence detection. However, there is no way to tie this to specific motion events. Instead, this is useful for firing schedule presets that adjust camera schedules based on who is home/away. The only way to implement what you are suggesting is facial recognition. While this may be added in the future, I cannot promise if/when this will happen, sorry.

  • Thanks Ben.

  • Would be nice to see. I have a fake doorbell setup with HomeBridge that rings the doorbell on the HomePods when someone comes up the walkway or is in the front yard. Would love to have it not trigger if my wife or I are out front doing gardening. If it were actually tied to iPhone location then facial recognition would not be required (when shovelling snow you won't be seeing my face).

Will keep watching for the advancements.
