"Play sound" feature in SecuritySpy 4
I've been playing around with the "Play sound:" feature in the Cameras' Actions preference pane in SecuritySpy 4. Love it!
Two things I've noted:
1. After selecting a sound, pressing the "Play" button doesn't do anything. No sound is played.
2. It would be great to select a custom sound via a file picker.
Thanks for great software!

Thanks for your feedback. I've just tested the "Play" button and it seems to work just fine. Are you sure your Mac is capable of playing sounds (i.e. volume up and connected to speakers)? Does the selected sound play when the actions are triggered? What OS X system version are you using?
You can add sounds in most formats (AIFF, MP3 etc.) by dragging them to the ~/Documents/SecuritySpy/Sounds/ folder. -
Ben,
I just realized I have to hold down the mouse button on the Play button for as long as I want the sound to play... I thought just clicking and releasing would play a subset of it. It might be worth a note or hint of some kind in the UI.
As for adding our own sounds, way cool! Again, thanks for great software. -
Might be a good idea to somehow make it known you have to hold the play button down to hear this I was having the same issue and was about to write a msg on the forum but did a search first and found this thread.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll change the title of this button to "Hold To Play" for the next update, to make it clear.
