Was wondering how to use UNV (Uniview) camera with SecuritySpy. It is Onvif compliant. It accepts the username and password, and can select the stream but will not stream the video?

Thanks

Hi Jon, we haven't actually come across these cameras before. Any ONVIF cameras should work but there must be something going wrong here. Please select the "Open Log" option from the File menu in SecuritySpy and let me know what the last few entries are that refer to this camera?
  • Hi Ben, I keep getting 1245 or 801 errors

  • Hi Jon, it looks like this camera is sending junk data that SecuritySpy cannot interpret. If you restart the camera does it start to work?

The other thing to do would be to contact the manufacturer and see if there is an updated firmware version that you can install on the camera. But from our end I don't think there is anything we can do to get this working I'm afraid.
  • Hi Ben,

Thanks for taking time to look in to it for me. These cameras have been nothing but a pain. They will be shipping out on Monday so no worries there.
  • i don't know if this will give Ben a clue as to whats going on but you can download the plugin for safari from here

The cameras will all show the live stream in safari but will not show anything in SS. The cameras do default to h265 though which might be a problem although i changed all the streams ( 3 ) to h264 and still had no luck with SS.

if it shows up in safari there must be a manual way of getting the stream into SS somehow.

The quality and price performance of these cameras is outstanding. they have very good dynamic range and sharpness. viewed alongside a Dahua and Hikvision camera with the same specs the image is notably clearer.
