Can't view captured movies in SpyGlass
Hello! I searched but didn't find this topic previously covered.
I'm running SecuritySpy 4.0.5 and the current version of Spyglass on my iPhone. I have the SecuritySpy web server serving HTTP on port 8000. Everything on Spyglass appears to be working with the exception of viewing captured movies. I can get to the list of movies, but when I try to play one all I get is a black screen. It works via my laptop in Safari.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

We've heard of this problem over HTTPS but not HTTP, are you sure this is what you are using? What is the resolution of the movies? It's possible that iOS will have problems playing the movies if the resolution is too high. Aside from this, there shouldn't be anything preventing the movies from playing.

On the Web Server Settings, I've got "HTTP server enabled on port: 8000" checked and "HTTPS server enabled on port: 8001" unchecked. I also have "Make movies Fast Start on-the-fly" checked. The movies are mostly about 15-25MB, and the resolution is 1080P at 24 frames per second.
I get to the same place via the web interface, too, meaning I can see the list of available movies with their thumbnails, but the movies won't play. I'll experiment tonight and see if I can provide more data for troubleshooting. -
I figured it out. I have a Palo Alto firewall keeping an eye on things at my house. I had allowed web-browsing on port 8000, but the movies are considered HTTP-video by the firewall. After I allowed that application the movies started working.
Thank you for your assistance! -
One final comment: I've found that using the web interface works but using SpyGlass doesn't. I don't believe SpyGlass is your app, but do you have any tips on making it work with the current SecuritySpy interface?

SpyGlass started working for displaying movies shortly after I posted my last comment. I think it was just tired of me complaining about it. Thanks again!
By the way, my wife and I love SecuritySpy! We'll be upgrading our license as soon as I find the time to install more cameras! -
Great to hear you have everything working now, and thanks for your compliments about the software!
