Browser Suggestion

Hi Ben - the new browser and the ability to view multiple camera timelines all at once is great, however where there are big gaps in recordings, you now have to either fast forward between each or move the time selector to view each separate recording slot. Maybe it would be good to add a selector to the browser window to allow the user to toggle between the timeline view or view just one camera recording so we have the option of either timeline view or recordings without the gaps (as it would appear if using quicktime and as it was in v3). Thanks.

  • Hi Ben - I reverted back to v3 for a few days to compare and from my perspective it would be good to be able to view recordings via either the new or old style browser format. With the old format, I can watch recordings continuously without the timeline gaps in recording and I can scroll through quickly (I review the recordings from the previous night, every morning).

Could you consider having either an option on the browser or in the preferences to be able to view using old style browser ?

The rest of the changes in v4 are great and the timeline view of multiple camera's is a good addition for certain occasions however I miss some of the old browser functionality. Many thanks.
  • Thanks for your feedback. We're not going to revert to having the browser work in two different ways, however what we are aiming for is a "best of both worlds" approach where you have the advantages of multi-camera synchronised playback when you want it, along with easy viewing of one camera when you want that instead. So we'll be making a few changes to make this better - for example to automatically skip the gaps with no video footage to play. We'll be making these improvements in near-future updates to the software.
  • Thanks Ben that sounds like it will give us the best solution.
