Anyone know why the audio isn't working with EyeSpy247 EXT cameras ? I only get the option of JPEG HTTP (video and audio) when you add the devices, but I don't get any audio.
Thanks
Paul

  • Hi Paul, the camera supports two different formats of audio - G.711 and G.726, please can you try them both? You should be able to change this setting by connecting to the camera using a web browser and browsing its settings pages. While you're there, make sure that audio is actually enabled.

    Does this resolve the problem?
  • Hi Ben,
Thanks for quick response -- unfortunately not! I tried G.711, G.726 and actually it had a third option LPCM. None of which enable the audio. I've got the microphone and speaker settings enabled on each of the cameras.
    Thanks

Actually G711 seems to work when you go to the camera webpage to view the MJPEG video. If I select the others, then I get no sound on this. However, in SecuritySpy I get no audio.
  • Hi Paul,

It's strange because all these formats should work, and we have previously tested and confirmed this camera to be working with audio and video (though perhaps with a different firmware version).

At this point I think the best way forward would be if you can put your camera online temporarily for us to connect to from here to test. To do this you will need to set up port forwarding in your router to forward incoming connections on port 80 to the camera, and then email us your external IP address or the viewcam.me DDNS address that you can quickly and easily set up in the Web Server Settings in SecuritySpy. We'll also need the camera's admin login details. Let me know if you need any further information setting this up.
  • Hi Ben,
Sorry for the delay. I still can't get any audio working on the 3 EyeSpy cameras I have. I've just emailed you the details of the web server etc.
    Thanks for your help

  • Hi Paul;

    I've replied to your email/tix 31461
  • Got it thanks Rod!
  • Sorry taken so long to come back on this. I can't open up the camera ports unfortunately as my Wifi router sits behind the DSL router.

However, I could take screenshots of the settings?
  • Yes, if you can take screenshots of all relevant settings windows and email them to us this would be very helpful, thanks.
  • I provided screenshots via email now.
  • I managed to fix it.

Upgraded the EyeSpy247 EXT+ to V1.0.08 (may be coincidental).
Set cameras up as manual configuration
    Use the URL /img/media.sav?channel=2
(In fact there are lots of different options to get MPEG, H264 video etc.) instead of using your standard config.
Use RTSP TCP (Video and Audio)

On the cameras the audio is set as G711.

Would be useful to update the EyeSpy configuration ?
  • Great to hear you got it working. This is very helpful feedback that we will use to improve the EyeSpy247 profile in SecuritySpy.
