How to track down communication error?
I get the following error once a day or so:
Error communicating with the network device "Pool Deck West". 4.0.2,10,835 Excessive packet loss from network device, the network may be too slow or defective, or this computer may be overloaded. Check the network and/or reduce this camera's frame rate.
The camera is connected to an Ubiquiti ToughSwitch, and it doesn't show any errors on that port. So I don't think it's a bad cable. The camera is running 1920x1080, 15fps, H.264.
Is this something I need to just ignore, or is there some way to find out what's causing it?

Is your Mac also connected to the switch by wired ethernet?
If it's only happening once a day I think it's safe to ignore it. It could just be the result of temporary network congestion causing the camera to drop a few packets. When this happens you may get a few corrupt video frames, but once per day is not very serious. -
Mac is connected to a TP-Link Gigabit switch, which is connected to the POE switch. All hardwired gigabit connections.
I reduced the cameras to 12fps and the frequency is even less, so I'm not going to worry about it any more for now. -
FYI- I have had a similar issue with 4.0.4, which doesn't happen on 4.0.0, only after I upgraded to 4.0.4. So I moved back to 4.0.0.
