8 cameras, but only 1 recording.
Greetings all,
I am running into an issue that I currently have an open ticket for, but their technical support does not seem to know how to fix it. Basically, I have a license for 8 cameras that I installed on a Mac Mini and have all 8 cameras (AXIS cameras) setup the same. They are all set to record to different folders on an external HD (WD My Passport). The cameras are set to only record upon motion detection. Once I switch the cameras from passive to active, the first camera that detects motion and starts recording is the only camera that is writing data to the HD. The rest of the cameras show that they are recording, but are not writing any information.
The external HD has been formatted to a Mac format and the account the program is running under is an administrator. I don't see what is causing the other 7 cameras not to write any data to the HD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I can only get one e-mail from tech support per day because of the time difference I guess.
Thanks,
PCS

Hi - if SecuritySpy is showing recording (i.e. the red "R" icon in the Camera Status window), then it is actually recording and writing data somewhere. Obviously it should be writing it to the destination you have specified in the Camera Settings window. What you can do is open the Browser feature from within SecuritySpy, locate a recorded file for any camera, and choose the "Reveal selected file in Finder" option from the Browser menu. This will show you exactly where the files for that camera are being recorded.

Thanks for the info Ben, I wish your technical support would have been as helpful. Turns out that for some reason the other 7 cameras were writing data to a folder in the Trash. I moved the folder to the external HD and it appears to be working correctly now.

Glad to hear the issue is solved. Sorry that our tech support didn't help in this instance, I will look into this and find out what happened.
