Cant get Reolink RLC-410 to be recognized by SecuritySpy
Hi all,
I'm trying to connect a Reolink RLC-410 to the new 4.0 version of SecuritySpy (even tried the last version back to no avail).
My issue is this:
I know the camera works because both the Mac and Windows Reolink clients can display the image from it. Have changed the encoding profile to "Baseline" based on some other forum posts I've read.
When I try to add the camera in Security Spy, I have tried many variations and permutations of the following:
Profile: ONVIF, SecuritySpy, Reolink and Manual
Have entered IP address. Have tried with ports blank and port numbers entered. Have tried toggling the formats. It just doesn't seem to recognize any of them (but DOES see my FacetimeHD camera on the local machine).
The closest I have come is using ONVIF with IP address entered which enables me to click the "Choose Stream" button. This yields a 404 error.
Log says this:
06/25/2016 07:33:35: Error communicating with the network device "Network camera". 4.0,70280,404 Failed to obtain video frame from network device. File not found.
Struggling as to where to go from here.

As you tried the myriad of settings changes, did you close the preference dialog or command-s after each change? The current SS 4 doesn't apply any preference adjustments until the dialog is closed or you press command-s.
Makes searching through for possible working camera profiles more difficult. You can easily think you made a change but it didn't actually take effect. In SS 3, it was already tedious to test all the profiles. In SS 4, you have to take the extra step of forcing each change to apply.
When searching through for usable profiles, I wished SS had an automatic means of testing each of the known profiles. -
That is a great tip. One that I had no idea of. I have some Adobe software that behaves the same way (prefs are saved at "quit"). Will try a few things and report back.

Follow up, this tip from guykuo got me going. Thanks. Now that I got it going I ended up still not getting ONVIF to work but on a lark got it working with the ReoLink preset (leaving ports blank but entering IP and login/password). Had to go into ReoLink Client to set encoding to baseline on each camera before SecuritySpy would see it.
Now I can begin to explore the possibilities of SecuritySpy software. The ReoLink client, while functional, is pretty janky.

I'm also installing a new system and the primary camera I am using is the ReoLink RLC-410. I haven't upgraded SecuritySpy to v4, because although I have a license for v2 and v3, I haven't actually loaded v3. I was in the process of moving and I have determined that the ReoLink POE cameras will work best for my new home. I see that others have not had great success with the RLC-410, so before I buy an upgrade to v4, it would be nice to know if the RLC-410, which is an ONVIF camera will actually work with SecuritySpy (any version).

Thanks for the response! I'm going to upgrade to SS v4
