HTTPS via SS web browsing and SpyGlass?

Right now, I am using a VPN into my mini at home as I can't figure out how to enable and connect via HTTPS for web and SpyGlass connections. Is there a way I can generate a self signed certificate via OS X Server so I can forego having to remember to enable my VPN prior? I'm a little grey when it comes to this type of work, so looking for some tips.

    SecuritySpy will automatically create a self-signed certificate; all you have to do is enable the HTTPS option in the Web Server Settings window. For viewing over the internet, you'll need to follow our Remote Monitoring instructions in the manual.

    However, note that iOS refuses to play back movie files from HTTPS servers with self-signed certificates. So live viewing in Spyglass will work fine but viewing previously-captured footage won't. For this you will need to purchase an official SSL certificate.

    I use no-ip for my DDNS. The instructions for purchasing indicate I need an admin@mydomain, which I don't have. Thoughts?

    It's not possible to get an SSL certificate for your no-ip domain. As you say, there needs to be approval from the owner of the domain, and they don't do that for you. However we do, so all you need to do is set up a viewcam.me domain in the Web Server Settings window in SecuritySpy, and use that instead.
