Email from cameras

I've had security spy for several years now and find it excellent. I had two cameras set to send an email on motion detection, however a few months ago I decided to stop the emails as I was getting too many false alarms. Just before taking a 2 week holiday I set the option to email back on but for some reason I am not receiving any. The test option works fine, I receive the test email but not live emails. I seem to recall an update since I last had the emails running. I have changed nothing else so am wondering if the update has done something?
