Foscam C1: Security Spy not loading

I have a small network of Foscam cameras (3x F9805W & 5x FI9821W V2) all running just fine in Security Spy (and Blue Iris), but I recently tried to add a new Foscam C1 (non ptz) and I am having zero luck. I have exhausted all of the Foscam camera options (as well as numerous other generics that in the past have worked just on a goof). Any insight will be much appreciated. This new little C1 is pretty sweet non ptz camera, the wide angle view is impressive. I can get it to work fine in Blue Iris S/W and of course the native gui, but Security Spy I am swinging and missing big time.

    Hi Mike,

    Please see our Foscam C1 Camera Review as it contains full setup information.

    Basically you need to use the "Foscam H.264" profile, make sure to enter the admin login details and specify "H.264 RTSP" as the Format. Also, make sure that you are using the latest version of SecuritySpy.

    Thank you - I did not have to RTSP port set right (554), that did the trick for one of the C1's. The other one is still giving me fits, but thank you very much.

    Hi Mike, if you manually had to specify port 554 to get it working, this indicates that you aren't on the latest version of SecuritySpy (we changed the default port to 554 in the latest version as we discovered more and more Foscam cameras using it, rather than the weird custom port of 88 that many of the older cameras used). So downloading and installing the latest version is worth trying in order to get the other camera online too.

    I found with the C1's to make sure to update the firmware (2 parts to update) made a big difference - but I had purchased a couple just after they were released, so newer shipping ones may be more reliable already than what I found.

    I have the most recent version of SecuritySpy. The firmware on my C1 is updated. I have tried so many different numbers that i have lost track for the ports. I'm still getting a "communication error". Please help

    for mine which one is wired, and the other wireless - verified IP by logging into web interface on the cameras.
    Then in Security Spy:
    Profile: Foscam H.264
    HTTP port: 443 (I likely changed this from default)
    RTSP port: 554 (as Ben notes, may not need to set this, I did at the time)
    username: and password as setup on the camera.
    Format: H.264 RTSP (video and audio)

    I've got a couple of C1-lites (they super cheap, and are flat, so they can be put against a window. IR doesn't work through glass, so lack of IR on the lite model is no loss - the external area is moderately lit)

    They stream solidly using the same settings as Brian apart from having 88 as the http port. Log into the camera with a Browser first to check all the settings. All of the port settings are listed in one of the tabs, so you can check that they're as expected. You can also turn a bunch of stuff off (like DDNS and P2P, which you don't need/want if you're running through SS).

    Only problem I've had is that the recordings don't play back easily. The data is fine, but the duration isn't set properly, so they're hundreds if hours long. Putting them into QT player and trimming them to 1 hour fixes it so its still functional, but they do bad things in the browser.
