On demand motion capture

To get SecuritySpy to capture upon motion detection, all you have to do is enable the "Capture movie when motion is detected" option, which is in the Motion Capture section of the Camera Settings window. Then set the camera to Active mode (from the Control menu or from the contextual menu when right-clicking on the camera's video image). Then, SecuritySpy will capture from the camera when motion is detected.

Thanks for your response Ben. I guess I was expecting to be able to simply start recording video, even in the absence of motion, so my question wasn't well phrased. I now know how to kick off recording although it would be convenient to have a Start Recording / Stop Recording option on the camera context menu, regardless of the camera status.

I see what you mean. We are working on improvements related to this (e.g. so that you can have motion capture running all the time, while manually controlling continuous capture separately). Another addition could be the ability to trigger motion capture from the contextual menu, so we'll see if we can add this in the future. Thanks for your suggestions.
