audio in/out from Foscam 19900p
Just got this today, NOTHING on the CD opens, everything seems corrupted so I ran IP scanner, got the address, and Security Spy accessed the camera flawlessly after tweaking the feeds and video settings. Happy days and respect to SS.
So this camera has audio in and out. There are two component connectors dangling out of the camera. I have it wired ( ethernet ) as wireless is useless without line of sight and no obstructions. So how can I get the audio IN so Security Spy can record it with the video ? Do I need a cable running from the camera to the mac or is the audio sent along with the Video/Audio stream ?

Great to hear you got the camera working so easily with SecuritySpy.
While the camera does have audio input (and that audio is sent along with the video stream on the ethernet cable to SecuritySpy), the camera does not have a built-in microphone. So you will need to get a separate microphone, and connect its output to the yellow audio input connector at the back of the camera. If you search for "cctv microphone" on Amazon or eBay you will see lots of possibilities. Note that the microphone needs power (usually the same 12v as the camera, so you can get a splitter cable for this), and that you may need an adaptor to connect the microphone's audio output to the camera's audio input (e.g. RCA to 35mm jack).
As for computer->camera audio, this is coming up in a future version of SecuritySpy, so not possible at this time. But also the camera doesn't have a built-in speaker, so you'd need to connect a powered speaker so the red audio output connector at the back of the camera.

Great stuff, thanks. I'd be happy to get the audio, that would be enough for me. BTW this camera is a cracker. I got Avtech cameras a couple of years ago and was immediately impressed, I didn't think they could get any better. I needed another one to replace an old indoor foscam that has survived 5 winters OUTSIDE , that impressed me, so I thought I'd try another foscam. It has optical zoom and it's really good ! Doesn't have Pan or tilt though. So I had a brainwave. Could I piggyback my new bullet camera on the old foscam camera, hack the actual camera off it and just use the PT mechanism. Anyone like to pitch in see if I could get this to work, would be a wheeze.
