Error code: 705,-61

I keep receiving Error code: 705,-61 which causes my cameras to go into passive mode. I've done enough searching to figure out that it's a permissions problem but I can't figure out which folder is the problem. The permissions look correct on /Documents/SecuritySpy/Captured Files and on the final capture destination. I've even tested setting the permissions on the two folders at 777 to test, no dice.

  • Hi - yes this is a permissions problem. Please quit SecuritySpy and restart your Mac. Then open Disk Utility and run a "Repair Disk Permissions" procedure on your startup volume. Then open SecuritySpy again and set the cameras back to Active mode.

    Does this fix it?
  • Hi Ben - No joy. I also tried deleting ~/Documents/SecuritySpy/Captured Files, figuring that you wrote the system to check for the directory and create it if necessary. I was right and the directory got recreated but it still gives me the same error on restarting SecuritySpy.
  • This is a strange one! Please can you let me know what Mac OS X system version you are using? Also, have you set up a custom capture destination for the camera in question, or is it set to the default (in which case you will see "Will be created automatically" in the Camera Settings window)?
