Motion-Detect Camera erroneously records continuously
Thanks for your time, is this a common problem?
For some reason one camera that is always set to only record when detecting motion sometimes "forgets" to stop recording and creates a file of huge size and duration.
Example:
Here you can see all the recordings from one day.

All files are int he MB or even KB range except for one file that is more than 1GB and goes for hours instead of seconds.
Sometimes the entire day is one massive file. This used to never happen but now it has become a regular problem.

Hi - this is certainly not a common problem. Firstly, please make sure you are using the latest version of SecuritySpy.
Next, have a look at the file in question - is there anything moving in the file that could be triggering motion detection continuously?
Is the camera set to be triggered by audio? If so, could this be what is triggering the recording? -
1. Yes latest version.
2. No nothing moving and as soon as I do a ‘reset’ by quitting & restarting SS, everything works as expected, many small files from then on until the next hang up.
3. No, the camera is not set to be triggered by audio. It is only set to be triggered by a substantial amount of movement and as you can see on the screenshot, it worked for most of the day, but at some point it seems to just forget to stop after the last movement. -
Thanks for the feedback - I think this may have something to do with the camera's timestamps of the video frames. If they are discontinuous this could cause problems with starting/stopping recording at the right time. It's not a common occurrence but have seen this once or twice. What camera makes/models are you using that are showing this problem?

Not a great camera, after 2 years 2/4 have failed already.
The last days the error didn’t happen by the way.
