Turning off 'Receive Notification' for only some cameras via Remote Patrol

Hello,

I have noticed that if any camera has 'Receive Notifications' on in Remote Patrol, I receive notifications for all cameras. I would like to be able to turn notifications on and off for select cameras individually. Should this work?

    This should definitely work - you should only get notifications for the cameras for which you have turned on notifications in the Remote Patrol app.

    Check that you have only one instance of your SecuritySpy server set up in Remote Patrol, and make sure the notification switches are in the correct positions for all cameras in the Remote Patrol app. If you're still having problems, I'd recommend contacting the developers of Remote Patrol for further advice, as it's up to the app to tell SecuritySpy which cameras to receive notifications for.

    Hi @cchristie, you should only get notifications (in iOS) for cameras you've turned this feature on for in Remote Patrol. So please make sure both SecuritySpy v3(.4.4) and Remote Patrol (as well as iOS) are up to date (as testing here has confirmed this works).

    With the latest update for the current version of SecuritySpy always available on its download page by clicking the "Download SecuritySpy" link, here: http://www.bensoftware.com/securityspy/download.html

    While you can update Remote Patrol on the App store on your iOS device (as well as iOS itself).

    OK, I think I see what the problem is. I have two server instances setup in Remote patrol. One is the 'local' version, which uses my server's IP and the non https port (8000) and the second is the 'external' version which use my DDNS address and the secure port (8001). When I am home on my local network the 'local' connection seems to connect much faster. I can try and remove the local connection to see if this solve the issue.

    With that being said, is there anyway other way to have remote patrol connect locally when you are on your home network?

    Hi Cam,

    That would explain it: you will get a notification if any camera under any instance of the server that is set up in Remote Patrol has notifications enabled.

    In Remote Patrol, I believe that if you have given it both the LAN address and the Internet (DDNS) address of your SecuritySpy server, it will intelligently choose which one to connect to based on where it is. Have you tried this?

    If you are still having trouble, an email to the developers of Remote Patrol would probably be a good idea as they will know more about how the app handles addresses than us.
