Security Spy stops working when selecting "login window"
1. No problems prior to upgrading to yosemite
2. I stay logged in, and then choose "Login Window"
3. Security spy stops recording movement
4. When i log back in, I can see that security spy attempts to reconnect to cameras, and after few seconds everything is back to normal
5. I've not changed any settings such as sleep etc
6. help, as the imac stays on all the time and needs to record all movement via security spy and my cameras

Hi - this is to be expected with "local" devices (e.g. USB webcams or the computer's built-in camera), because the system blocks access to these from all but the front-running user account.
Are you also experiencing this with network cameras?
What version of SecuritySpy are you using? -
All 7 network cameras shut down. It seems that no software runs after I go to "login window" ( and stay logged in )

Was ok before change to yosemite -
Hi. I think it relates to File Vault. I encrypted the mac drive with file vault, and after this the system had various issues. I have now stopped using file vault, and amazingly I have no more issues with security spy.

Hi Jadly, this is very useful information, we weren't aware of this problem with FileVault. Good to hear you resolved your problem by disabling it. We will remember this for any other users who have this problem in the future.

More info - the problem still occurs...... Security Spy works fine, then I select login window.... therefore I am still logged in .... hours later I get back into my session, during this process I notice that there is no feed to security spy of the cameras, then they connect. No video was capture due to motion during the hours I was away from the Imac. Something is stopping applications from running when users are logged in, but the imac is at the login window .... any ideas ?

I would also update SecuritySpy for full Yosemite compatibility to v3.4.4 available on it's download page (as always) here: http://bensoftware.com/securityspy/download.html by clicking "Download SecuritySpy". -
Hi again Jadly, this should not occur with Network cameras. So please update to v3.4.4 of SecuritySpy and if this issue still persists (which it shouldn't) let us know, then;
Instead of going to the Login window, you could enable a screensaver WITH a Password & even setup hot corners to activate this, under Mac OS System Preferences.
