UGreen Home Agent
This new proposed product line is interesting in concept, but it seems very closed. is it in some aspects, going in the right direction for home surveillance?

not sure if I'm off topic or just created a dead topic, probably both. I have one last windows machine in the house which does surveillance (99% sure this will go to macOS soon), 2 years ago start move entire home to MacOS from Windows. Right now have several dozen WIFI sensors on homekit which will be replaced with thread (pretty much ruled out zigbee) ones. Security system is closed ,proprietary, 10 years old. So thats what I'm looking at, thinking 5 years from know I'll chuckle at what I have now.
I avoided Home Assistant and made do with Homekit and Sec System, but I've recently noticed it ecosystem has really matured, waited to hear what Apple was up to with Siri AI, and they disappointed with their expensive iCloud approach
In parellel was motived to retire windows surveillance with sec Spy, but then I notice Home Assistant seems to not be as important, based on looking in forum here and asking AI about HA and Security spy relationship.
So I've been wondering, sorry. The U Green was interesting, mostly cause it seems DOA, but it is interesting.

The UGreen device looks interesting, but it looks like its own ecosystem, so I'm not sure how much synergy there would be between it and our NVR software SecuritySpy.
I understand your comments about HomeKit - it works great but is quite limiting. If you want to do advanced home automation, then Home Assistant is the go-to, ideally on dedicated hardware such as a Home Assistant Green. And you don't have to throw away your HomeKit sensors - these should work perfectly well with Home Assistant using the "HomeKit Device" integration. And if you get a ZBT-2 you can choose between Matter or Zigbee (or both, with two ZBT-2s).
SecuritySpy integrates with both HomeKit and Home Assistant via our bridge app HomeHelper. Events can go both ways, i.e.:
- Trigger a home accessory from SecuritySpy (e.g. turn on light when motion detection)
- Trigger SecuritySpy from a home accessory (e.g. start recording when a PIR sensor detects motion)

Ben thanks, UGreen is aggressively moving into various tech product markets, but this NVR-AI-NAS product has all the right buzz words, but it seems to be very closed and unproven, for the big commitment it requires.
