Using popular cloud server to FTP motions trigged SS files
Can any of the popular cloud servers, Dropbox, Google drive, iCloud, etc., be used for SS to send and store SS files? If so, how can it be done?

All these services work in the same way: you have a special folder on your Mac that gets automatically synchronised with your online account whenever a file changes within that folder. So all you have to do is direct SecuritySpy to capture to this folder, and these files will then be automatically uploaded and stored online.
Simply create a new folder within the Dropbox/Google Drive/iCloud Drive folder for each camera, and set this as the "Capture Destination" for that camera via the Setup section of the Camera Settings window.
(Note that iCloud Drive requires OS X Yosemite.) -
Thanks Ben. I am not sure if I understand. By doing that one would have the "continuous capture" files backup in Dropbox etc, but to have the motion capture files is done through either FTP or FTPP, or so I thought. I don't see (understand) how to send the motion capture files to Dropbox, etc.

All files that SecuritySpy captures (continuous, motion detection, still image JPEGs etc.) are always captured to a folder on a drive that is mounted on your Mac (the "capture destination").
The FTP upload feature in SecuritySpy is designed for off-site storage of these files, and is entirely optional. The main reason for the FTP feature is in case an intruder comes and steals the local drive.
If you are using Dropbox to upload the files in the capture destination, then you don't need to use SecuritySpy's FTP feature, as this achieves the same result. -
Well, it is not quite the same. First, you need to have a lot of Dropbox space, because all the files would go there. If you have several cameras, say 10, that's an issue. Second, the motion-triggered files remain there only for some time, until the end of the continuously captured file?. Whereas if one uses FTP or FTTP to save motion-triggered files, one needs much less space on the remote server and it is easier to find specific frames when some motion has occurred or one suspect of that. So the question remains, is it possible to send motion-triggered files (only, not the continuously capture files) to any of those popular cloud servers?

You could write a script that, every minute, copies any files that don't have "TL" in the name into the Dropbox/Google/etc. folder that gets synchronized. Ugly hack.

@ggilpu - each camera records its footage (both TL and MD) to one location. There is no built-in feature that achieves what you want, but there are a couple of solutions.
One has just been proposed by @jtodd, and I see now reason why that wouldn't work reliably. Though it does require a bit of AppleScript, which I'm not sure if you're familiar with.
The other is to add the same camera to SecuritySpy twice. As long as you use identical settings for the two instances of the camera in the Video Device Settings window, SecuritySpy will recognise this and share one stream from the camera for the two instances, and will not count the second instance towards the number of cameras you are allowed to use in your license. Set the first instance to record TL movies to one location, and set the second instance to record MD movies to a different location within the Dropbox folder. -
I would hope that in future additions that these can be parsed out. My capture destination is stashed in my attic.… I use FTP already, but I would love to see an FTP option to point to a folder... This cuts the learning curve for so many that I'm trying to turn this software onto... Some simply don't have a server to post to.
