    Hi @ericwass great to hear you are enjoying the new update! To answer your questions:

    1. The difference here could be down to audio. If there is audio being recorded to these files, and the audio is not in AAC format, then the resulting file format will be .mov and these files can't play in web browsers. The solution is to switch the camera's audio encoding setting to AAC (if possible), or set SecuritySpy to re-encode the audio to AAC.     2. The new web interface isn't designed to be used on iOS, because we offer our SecuritySpy iOS app for this. Part of the reason is that certain controls are implemented differently on iOS, including the control you are referring to. However, we do appreciate that the new web interface does actually work well on an iPad for the most part, and this would actually be useful for many users for the purposes of adjusting settings, so we will see if we can make some tweaks to fix these glitches in order to officially support iPad for the new web interface.
    3. This is a macOS restriction. You can give SecuritySpy full access to screen recording in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording. The precise location/panel name varies depending on macOS version, but basically you are looking for permission to grant SecuritySpy access to screen recording.

    For the revamped v6 "Check for Updates" - I have a copy of SS in View Only mode on a second Mac. In Settings / Registration, the Software Update box states "Updates for this software are available only when it is registered and within the support period". I thought the old v5 provided the ability to detect when there was an update available for SS in view-only mode. I currently have a registered copy of a 6.2b2 on my Mac Mini and a SS View Copy on my Mac Studio. Thanks for the great software, Ben.

    @rdforbes I noted the same. I view the cameras from a view only copy of SS and noted I could not upgrade from the settings screen. The only work around I found was to download the latest update from the site here and then install it, thus upgrading the view only copy of SS. Maybe it can be implemented to upgrade like the full version since SS won't allow recording anyway on the view only copy.

    You are both correct - at the moment, the update option will be available only when the software is registered. This is due to the fact that under the recently-introduced system of defined support periods, the particular version that a particular user is entitled to use depends on the license.

    For unlicensed copies of SecuritySpy, we may add back the in-app update option, but for the moment, you can simply download and install new updates from our web site when available.

    Playback of captures files on a browser looks amazing!

    Would be great to be able to select a date range for captured files.

    Really miss the web based feature of being able to zoom in on any displayed camera by clicking on it.

    Overall, an excellent update!

    Thanks for your feedback @nanochow2. We do plan to allow a date range for captured files in the web interface, and the ability to zoom into a live camera's view easily has now been requested multiple times, so we'll definitely look at adding this to the web interface as well. I'm very glad that you are happy with the new version.

    Ben when is your roadmap to release the public version of the recent beta fixes ? I would prefer that out prior to upgrading the registration

    Hi @kaps the 6.2 release is probably a couple of weeks away. The main bug fixes in the beta are for edge cases (unusual cameras with unusual quirks) that don't affect the vast majority of users, and we want to actually add a few features in 6.2 rather than just some minor bug fixes. Feel free to use the beta - it's fully functional - but rest assured that there will be an official update coming soon.

    Hello all - just to let you know that version 6.2 is now out. You can update in-app under Settings > Registration, or manually from the SecuritySpy download page.

    Besides some camera compatibility improvements and bug fixes, we have added the ability to quickly expand cameras in the web live view by double-clicking on them. You can choose whether this double-click expands a camera in the current view, or opens in a new window. This was one of the most-requested features for the new web interface!

    There are also a few other improvements such as schedule overrides being available via the web interface (see the full version history).
