Homehelper - Need for more HomeKit assets
Hi
Happy to see that I can setup actions by using Homehelper and access HomeKit devices such as bulbs and outlets. But what about HomeKits scenes and HomePod..
Based on SecuritySpy motion event, I want my HomePod (part of my HomeKit ecosystem) to play a certain sound..
Any suggestions?

Hi Sotto,
HomeHelper (and therefore SecuritySpy) cannot access Scenes that you have set up in the Home app, and cannot directly play audio to HomePod devices - these just aren't features of the API that Apple has made available to developers.
But, what you can do is get HomeHelper to trigger some change in any accessory (e.g. turn on a switch), and then you can set up automations in the Home app to take other actions based on this, such as to play a sound via the HomePod. The accessory in question can be a physical accessory or a virtual switch.

HI Ben,
you are right.. As I have also Homebridge running, I can easily setup a virtual switch which then can be the trigger for the automation..
Thanks a lot, the easiest solutions are sometimes or very often so far away :-)
