Network bandwidth overload
Hi,
I have installed over a dozen systems using SS and it works great. However I have always used an IT company for set up and I just do the wiring and positioning. Long story short, I had an install and didn't use the IT company (for client reasons), and any motion bogs down the network. Using the newest Mac Mini and 5 qty 5MP Anpviz cameras. Set frame rate to 10 fps. When I monitor the Mac Mini on the network, motion on the cameras shows high upload data (50kbps when no motion to 60Mbps when motion occurs). What changes should I make to correct this issue?

60 Mbps is significantly higher than I would expect for a 5 MP camera. Is this consistent with the data rate shown in the Camera Info window in SecuritySpy for this camera? Note that SecuritySpy will display this value in MBps (megaBYTEs per second) rather than Mbps (megaBITs per second). 60 Mbps corresponds to 7.5 MBps.
The main thing to check is the camera's video encoding settings. We normally recommend VBR (Variable Bit Rate) encoding with a medium quality setting - perhaps the quality setting is set too high? Or, if you are still seeing these spikes under these settings, you may prefer to change to CBR (Constant Bit Rate) encoding, to provide a video stream of consistent bandwidth. I would suggest that 8 Mbps should be sufficient for H.264, or 5 Mbps for H.265, to give a decent quality stream at 5 MP and 10fps.

Rookie mistake. Made changes and all better. Thank you
