Motion Emails

Since the upgrade I have been having trouble getting motion emails. I have the sensitivity dialed up to 80 on the triggers and the AI and the time set to 0.5. The computer is an M1 Mini. Any suggestions?

  • Almost sorted out. For some reason these emails began getting diverted to the junk folder.

  • Not an easy solution for this. No help from Apple Care. In Mail Preferences the Rules do not function when using SecuritySpy for the sender or Motion Capture as the topic. I also tried creating a contact, SecuritySpy with an email of NoReply@BenSoftware.com. No luck, My motion captures still are going to the Junk folder. Apple unfortunately removed the "Not Junk" button one time ago.

    Any advice ?

  • That's strange - normally adding a contact with the email address noreply@bensoftware.com does the trick. According to this Apple help document, all you should have to do to mark legitimate emails as not junk is to drag them from the junk folder to the Inbox. So try this for a bunch of SecuritySpy emails, and hopefully this will train Mail to not mark these as junk.

  • Yes I've dragged over a hundred messages to the in box and instead of the "Not Junk" button, it's supposed to "learn".

  • Problem solved. Our ISP (Comcast) had a junk setting only accessible through their web GUI.

  • Interesting, so the ISP must have been flagging the message as junk by adding some headers, causing Mail to treat them as such despite all the interventions you tried. I'm glad you were able to get to the bottom of this!
