Feature Suggestion: Auto-Delete By File Type

Hi all. I've just started exploring SecuritySpy the past few days. I didn't find this suggestion with a quick search so I'll humbly submit it.

Currently "Auto-Delete Old Files" applies to all files (continuous recording and motion captures). I'd love to have the option to auto-delete (after X days) only the continuous recording files. There are probably those who'd like the ability to do the reverse: auto-delete after X days only motion detection files. Just an idea. Have a great weekend.

  • Thanks for the suggestion, however this would add complexity to the user interface and the algorithm (slowing it down), and I'm just not sure how useful this would be for the majority of users. If this is important to you, you could achieve a similar result my using two different disks (or partitions of the same disk) for the captures: one for Motion Capture and the other for Continuous Capture. As CC files are larger, this disk would keep a shorter history than the MC disk. Cameras that are doing MC are assigned to the first disk and cameras that are doing CC are assigned to the second disk.

If all cameras are doing both MC and CC, you could add each camera to SecuritySpy twice, with one instance doing MC and the other doing CC, in order to achieve the above.
