Responsive Video Viewing

Hi Phillip, this does happen when you are using our SecuritySpy iOS app - it will automatically adjust playback to portrait or landscape view. Is this what you are referring to, or are you using a different method to view video?

...2 years later..... (Spongebob cut scene)
So I was wondering if there would be a responsive viewing method outside of the iOS app environment? Basically via the web streams (Chrome, Edge, Safari). -
That functionality has been a feature for quite some time. You can enable the web server and view streams that way, or use the AppleTV app.

I understand they are viewable via the websever, but is the video responsive? Meaning will it grow and shrink as the browser window expends and contracts.
Best, -
When viewing via the web interface, SecuritySpy detects the window size in order to decide how large to display various elements such as the live video and movie playback, however this is done just once at the beginning of streaming, and is not adjusted when you resize the browser window.

I'm also interested in embedding the HTTPS video stream from a SecuritySpy web server on one of my websites, which are designed to be responsive based upon the device and screen resolution. At this time, the only way I seem to be able to adjust the video size is on the camera itself (I use primarily Amcrest IP cameras). I am guessing there is probably not a way to do this in javascript, but I'll throw the question out there for anyone's ideas?
Thanks,
Mike -
Hi @mphamilton - if you take a look at the various requests for live video streams on our SecuritySpy Web Server Specification document, you will see that each one takes "width" and "height" parameters, allowing you to specify the size of the video stream that will be received. This size is independent from the size being received from the camera.
