FTP Upload Problem

Hi Ben,

first of all: Happy new year!

I’ve been a happy user of SecuritySpy for three years. Since I updated to version 3.4.3, I have a strange problem. I use to upload Continuous TimeLapse-Files via FTP to a Synology Workstation, either with “Hourly (on the hour)” or “Daily (at midnight)” mode. But now these two modes are no longer working; uploads simply do not occur. The only kind of work-around I found for hourly uploads was to use “Every 60 minutes” mode. This produces TL-movies of length 60 minutes, but not starting at the begin of each new hour. Using the current beta version 3.4.4b4 does not solve the problem.

By the way, in the Camera Settings reachable via SecuritySpy Web Server, “Hourly (on the hour)” is missing in the mode selection.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Happy new year to you too!

Thanks for reporting this, I'll investigate and do some testing here, and will get back to you shortly.
  • Hi again Peter,

This bug has now been found, and fixed in the latest beta version of SecuritySpy (currently 3.4.4b5). Please download and install this version, and confirm that the uploads now work as expected.

    Thanks!
    Ben
  • Hi Ben,

Thank you for fixing the bug. The hourly upload now works. I could not yet test the daily upload.

A new problem I just detected is the fact that the ftp upload settings, which I define in the preferences of the SecuritySpy (SS) application, are not reflected in the Camera Settings page of the SS Web Server. On the other hand, ftp upload settings defined via the Camera Settings page of the SS Web Server are reflected in the prefs of the SS application, as it should be. I did not have the time to test this thoroughly enough, but it seems that this asymmetry occurs only for ftp upload mode parameters, e.g. "Hourly (on the hour)" and so on.
  • Great to hear the uploading is working as expected now. It was the same fix for the daily upload so I would expect that to work too.

I've uploaded a new beta (same location as above) that should resolve the web server settings issue - please confirm.
  • The new beta resolves the issue; thank you.
