Resizing viewing window

I just updated to 3.4.3 and noticed something odd: previously, if you logged in to view a camera over the web (at, say, security computer.local), the viewing area would automatically adjust to the size of Safari window. Now, after the update, it stays constant. So if you want to have a constant window of a particular stream (we use the reception area camera), it's nice to just have it sort of small in the corner of your screen.

I've looked everywhere and can't find an adjustment for this setting. Am I just missing something or is this not possible?

  • Hi - there have been some changes in the way live video is displayed via a web browser. For the best view, the new version detects the size of the browser window and will display the video as large as possible. However this is done just once when you first start viewing the stream; it does not adjust if you subsequent resize the window. In fact I'm not sure why you were able to adjust the size of the display on-the-fly in this way with the old version of SecuritySpy; it must have been the browser itself doing this.

A good solution for you may be to use another copy of SecuritySpy on the viewing computer to display the live streams rather than a web browser. This will give you the best viewing experience and will allow you to resize the video windows in the way you describe. For this viewing-only purpose, this second instance of SecuritySpy can be used free of charge, and the SecuritySpy-to-SecuritySpy streaming setup is relatively simple to configure.
