Continuos recording/time lapse
Hi,
Currently trialing SS and trying to setup a time lapse capturing 1 frame over an extended time (ultimately, I'd like to get to 1 frame every hour to track a construction project). I currently have it setup as a 'Capture Frequency' of 120 'seconds between frames'. 'Playback frame rate' is blank and camera is 15fps (and has time burned into the image from the camera).
When I play this back in the Browser, it is capturing nearly every frame. When I play it back in another player, it appears to be running ~1.5x normal speed and the duration of the clip in the apps control panel is over 2x in length (recording in 1 hr movie blocks appears as ~2:08:00).
Based on what I have read in the manuals, I think I have this setup properly but would not be surprised if I'm missing something. Do cameras or the recordings need to be reset if a Time Lapse change is made? Just trying to think of what could be causing it.

As follow-up to this, the internal camera on my MacBook acts as I would expect based on the user guide but the 2 network cameras I have connected do not.

This is probably due to the "No recompression" setting in the Video Device Settings window. If this setting is enabled, and the camera is sending a temporally-compressed video stream such as MPEG-4 or H.264, then it is not possible to change the frame rate of the video, and every frame will be captured.
So turning off this option should result in the behaviour you want. -
