Image storage and why can't I delete them?

My hard drive has rapidly filled up. I am looking for the storage location of the images and can't find it. I only find them in the email attachments folder as they are emailed to me. I moved them to the trash and emptied the trash only to watch them reappear in the finder again a few minutes later.

How do I permanently delete unwanted capture images, where are they and why do they come back. I also noticed a similar problem on me email receiving computer. I delete last nights emails if there are only false alarms only to find all the emails from the past month reappear in the next day's thread in Mail.app.

The SecuritySpy camera folders appear empty.

By default, captured files are stored in the location ~/Documents/SecuritySpy/Captured files/ - within your user folder.

But you don't need to access the files directly in the Finder: there are two ways to do this via the SecuritySpy software itself. The first method is using the Browser feature - simply click on the Browser menu in SecuritySpy and select "Open Browser".

The second method is to view and manage the files via SecuritySpy's web interface. But from the same machine it would be easier to use the Browser feature.

I think the issue has something to do with how long my email server keeps deleted files. I trash them and when I get a new security alert email the old ones appear again in a new thread. Only one camera shows any files in the browser and its not the one with the images I get swamped with.

Hi terska, this sounds like an issue with your email server or email client software. Depending on your email settings, when you delete a message from your email inbox it may or may not be deleted on the server. There are two email protocols for receiving mail: POP and IMAP. If you want changes you make in your email client reflected in the server then you should be using the IMAP protocol, if your mail server supports this.
