Building a Mac Video Server
This question is for those who have used security spy in a mac environment. I currently have 24 analog cameras spread over two DVR's at our facility and I'd love to move them to two Mac OS X video servers but I'm a bit of a novice.
What hardware should I look at to connect the analog cams to the servers? I'll be adding new cams but they will all be IP digital cameras however I don't want to scrap the existing cameras. I'm using Bosch 600 Series DVR's right now.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Just to expand on my question. I'm considering an AXIS P7216 16 channel Video Encoder (two of them actually). I was just looking for advice on pitfalls to avoid.

As you have concluded, I think using Axis video servers is the best solution for you. They do two 16-channel models with slightly different feature sets - the M7016 and the P7216. You may also want to look at the previous-generation models, the M7010 and the P7210, if you can get them at a good price.
So, one 16-channel server and two 4-channel servers (M7014) would add up to 24 cameras. There are no particular pitfalls to avoid (you can't go wrong with Axis really), all I would suggest is that you make sure to use a high-quality Gigabit ethernet switch with enough ports to add network cameras in the future, and PoE features to power the new cameras, to make the cabling as easy as possible.
