Network Video Server

I am looking at add a dedicated on my Local network.... I guess I started think about this when i say the DlInk DNR-326.. Reading what I can on that it would appear that it depends on its on camera management software and is very limited on the cameras supported. I guess I could run an external drive off one of my existing machines but I presume that would increase the traffic overhead on that machine

anyone have any ideas or thoughts??

    There are many devices such as the D-Link one that you mention - they are variable in quality and typically have limited camera support, and you should make sure to check what their Mac support is like as this varies a lot too. We would of course point you instead in the direction of our SecuritySpy software, which has very wide camera support, is designed for Mac from the ground up, and has all the features to give you an extremely effective video surveillance system.

    SecuritySpy can capture to the Mac's internal hard drive, or to an external drive of your choosing.
