Dedicated Micro Question

I have a Dedicated Micro SD Advanced Closed IPTV device that I would love to use as a feeder for a SecuritySpy setup. I've tried using the "Dedicated Micros D4, DS2 DVR" settings with no luck so far. I've tried both the main IP address and the multicast address/port. VLC sees the cameras as network streams.

Any suggestions on settings or anything I can try?

    Hi Doug, we haven't tested this particular device yet but if it works with VLC then there's a good chance it'll work with SecuritySpy. Can you please tell me exactly how you use/configure VLC to play the streams?

    I run VLC then go to the Playlist and select "Network streams (SAP)" and it shows up. Here's what shows as the location in the Media Information window.

    Hi Doug,

    Unfortunately SecuritySpy doesn't support the SAP protocol. I have contacted Dedicated Micros support to ask them how we can obtain streams from the device by HTTP or RTSP, and I will let you know what I hear back from them.

    Hi Doug, I've heard back from Dedicated Micros and they've provided some useful information. Please try this:

    - In the Video Device Settings window, create a new network device.
    - Set the device type to "Manual".
    - Enter the device's IP address but leave the Port field empty.
    - Select "RTSP" from the Format menu.
    - Enter VideoInput/0/mpeg4/1 as the Request

    Create a new device and use VideoInput/1/mpeg4/1 for the second camera, VideoInput/2/mpeg4/1 for the third camera etc.

    Please report back and let us know if this works or not.

    Thank you for following up with this. Using the instructions above I get the following results:
    RTSP TCP - Timeout error
    RTSP UDP - Continuous "reconnect in x"
    RTSP over HTTP - "Unrecognized request error"

    When accessing the images with a browser I get Java requests stating that "This web site is requesting access and control of the Java Application shown above. Allow access only if you trust the web site and know that the application is intended to run on this site." The application is "Unknown" and the publisher is "Anglo Design Holdings Plc". I"m wondering if this may be part of the issue?
