I would also like to do this. With a low sun in the morning I'm getting shadows in my detection area that are giving me false detection. a schedule for alerts would be ideal.

This functionality is currently not built into the software, although we are considering it for the future. However, there are a couple of solutions you could implement to achieve what you want:
The first solution (assuming you are using a network camera) is to add the camera twice in the Video Device Setup window. Then you will have two "instances" of the camera in SecuritySpy that you can apply different settings to. (SecuritySpy will detect that they are the same camera for licensing purposes so this doesn't affect the number of cameras you are able to use.)
The second (and better) solution is to use AppleScripts to set SecuritySpy's settings. These scripts can use SecuritySpy's web interface to adjust the recording and alert settings. We have some example AppleScripts to demonstrate this (see the one called "Camera Settings Change" towards the bottom of the page). You can then schedule your scripts to run at certain times using iCal: double-click on an iCal event, click the Edit button, and you will see some options including an option to run a script.
Hope this helps!
