Orphaned .unf Files

Hi Rex - in this unusual situation, SecuritySpy will automatically attempt to recover the unfinished file when it next launches. Unfortunately this is not always possible if the file is too damaged. For these cases we have a free movie fixer utility that can be used to fix most damaged movie files produced by SecuritySpy.

Thanks! It works.
After a normal quit and a restart of SecuritySpy, SS will indeed continue the TL, seamlessly, and will append the new frames to the .mov, which reverts to a .unf suffix while the time-lapse is being recorded.
But, in my experience, when it crashes, it leaves an .unf orphan -- although, fortunately, SS restarts automatically and begins a new .unf file. Movie Fixer is essential for such cases. The various files can be reassembled in QT 7.
