Disable automatic startup
Hi Ben,
I've been trying to disable SS 5.5.11 from starting up automatically after login and I can't determine where MacOS (Tahoe) is being told to launch SS. I've tried:
- disable reopen after crash in SS prefs
- sudo launchctl list (no services matching SS present)
- checked /Library/LaunchDaemons ~/Library/LaunchDaemons as well as StartupItems and LaunchAgents (in both ~/Library, /Library and /System/Library)
- sudo sfltool dumpbtm
- and obviously login items in the system preferences
- reopen windows after restart/shutdown disabled
This is happening after crashes and deliberate reboots/shutdowns. Any other place to look?

The place to look is System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions. You should see SecuritySpy shown here in the section entitled "Open at Login", and removing it should prevent automatic open when the Mac reboots.
(In case anyone running an older macOS system stumbles upon this post, login items used to be configured in the "Users & Groups" system settings panel, so look there if you can't find it in the General section.)
