Feature Request: Highlight Activity without focus change
I was so excited to see the addition of "highlight activity" in multiplex and I'm curious if an option could be added to highlight activity in the multiplex view like it does in the regular camera tab (red around camera box). The full screen of a single camera is too distracting in one of my use-cases for building monitoring where there is a lot of foot traffic.
My wish list item would be to have the benefit of activity highlighting as seen in the camera window, but in the full screen mode of multiplex. Would that be possible to have a "full screen" pop up as it is currently with an additional selector of "highlight camera" or something like that?

Ben, I do love multiplex on the iPhone when on the desk, but I too would love to just see a red box and not pop out the camera. I do note after the camera pops out, it then is first in the array. I have such eye muscle memory that it's hard to relocated cameras after a camera pops out and rearranges them
But, a red box to just highlight after cameras in the matrix view would be a great option.
Thanks, Marty

We'll certainly consider adding this. The benefit of the current method is that any camera - even one that is not shown in the current multiplex page - will be shown when it sees activity. Under the red-box scheme, this would have to be limited to the current page of cameras. Of course, this is only a concern if the multiplex is set to cycle through different pages, where each page contains fewer than the total number of cameras. If you just have a single-page grid view of cameras, the red-box method does make a lot of sense to highlight which ones currently have motion.
@Marty - could you please provide more details about the reordering phenomenon that you are referring to. Describe your Multiplex settings (number of cameras, cycle setting, number of total cameras), and how exactly the order is being changed when going to/from highlight mode. Thanks.

Ben, for example, I have 16 cameras and go into multiplex showing all 16 on the iPhone. I turn it sideways to view landscape. 16 look good that way being 4x4. When highlight activity is on, the cameras goes full view, and then when all 16 are shown again it moves the last full viewed camera to the number one position in the matrix. It does this on Apple TV viewing nine cameras as well. Highlight activity always rearranges on both systems for me. When I exit and disable highlight activity, all is back to the correct arrangement.
It is just a little confusing because cameras are rearranged until I disable highlight activity. the cycle time is 0 seconds. I just a "square" of cameras up all the time. 4x4 or 3x3.
If you cannot reproduce this, I'll be glad to send a video capturing the screen via email. Thanks for looking into this.
Regarding the red box, I certainly understand why it's implemented the way it is. Often I view all 16 in 4x4 or pick a group of 9 so I can view 3x3. This is where the red box would help.

Ben, I sent a video of this happening when viewing matrix with highlight activity on the iPhone. It also does the same on the AppleTV. Thanks for taking a look.
