Understanding error messages generated by Security Spy

I am getting error messages generated by Security Spy system that I would love to quit receiving. One day I received notifications that I had all these additional cameras that I did not set up from my original 8. I went in and deleted these additional odd ball ones but I still get notifications via e-mail about these non existing cameras. Security Spy sends me: "There was an error while setting up camera "Æ". Failed to open screen device. Screen not found. 6.3,66017,46700 Error from camera "Æ", it will be closed. Couldn't open camera. Screen not found. 6.3,2080,46700". There was an error while setting up camera "". Failed to open screen device. Screen not found. 6.3,66017,46700 Error from camera "", it will be closed. Couldn't open camera. Screen not found. 6.3,2080,46700. There was an error while setting up camera "¥". Failed to open local device. No such device. 6.3,66010,90021. Error from camera "¥", it will be closed. Couldn't open camera. No such device. 6.3,2080,90021. My issue is, I don't have any of these cameras. I did not set them up. They continue to report out. Any assistance would be helpful.

  • You are using an old version of SecuritySpy (6.3) - please update to the latest version (6.17), available from the SecuritySpy download page. Once installed, delete any cameras that shouldn't be there, and then you should not continue to receive these messages. If any further issues after installing the latest 6.17 version, please email us and we'll help you directly.

  • Yes Sir! That brought much needed sanity back into my life. Bless You!! Things are looking back to normal without any hard tasks. Boy do I look dumb. Wish I had asked sooner. :-) Thank you! This is why I LOVE Security Spy!!!

  • Great to hear that - I'm glad that everything is now working as it should after the update!
