Sudden / Random "Authentication Failed" Error Amcrest IP8M-2696E

Hi All,

I have a few Amcrest IP8M-2696E-AI cameras. One in particular, in the SS webview it says "404 Unrecognized Response" and from my Mac Mini's desktop it says "Authentication Failed".

Interestingly, I can log into all of my cameras, without any issue.

Any idea where to start?

    You can close this thread. I power cycled the POE port and that cleared up the issue.

    Hi Justin, great to hear that. We have actually seen some intermittent authentication problems with Amcrest cameras when using the ONVIF profile, and the upcoming 6.16 release should address these. Meanwhile, you can get a more stable connection by switching to the "Amcrest" profile under Settings > Cameras > Device.

    The issue came back so I rebooted the camera and it went away. It came back yet again, so I changed the profile to Amcrest which immediately resolved the issue. No issues for many hours now, so I think this is resolved!

    I will move all of my other Amcrest cameras to that profile. Thanks as always!
