wind detection by moving leaves
Hi,
I need to stop the filtration system of my swimming pool when is windy. I’m using the motion detection feature of security spy to trigger a shelly relè.
I have a question to optimize my system: given that I detect motion by the movement of leaves on a particular tree, what are the best setting about sensitivity of the motion and duration of the motion? What is better method to detect leaves movements: the old pixel model or the new neural network motion model?
Thanks,
LM

We have worked very hard to make the new neural-net motion detection highly resistant to swaying trees/plants/leaves - this is the first time we have heard from a user who actually wants to detect these things!
To achieve what you want, go to Settings > Cameras > Triggers > Advanced Options, and set the motion detection type to Standard. This is the pixel-based algorithm, which is far less resistant to these kinds of (usually false-positive!) triggers. A sensitivity of 50 should work fine. Make sure the Human/Vehicle/Animal object-detection options are turned off, as these would also effectively filter out the tree movement. If you can, make the tree large in the camera's view (orient the camera to the tree and zoom into it if possible).
However, perhaps a better solution would be a script that regularly consults a weather forecast API, using this data to determine whether to activate the filtration system. I'm sure that ChatCPT or Claude could help you create this.

Thanks Ben, it works like a charm!
