backup files on computer hard drive instead of external drive
I have my security cameras set up to store the captured files on my LaCie external hard drive - which seems to be working correctly. However, on my mac mini hard drive, there is still a Security Spy - Captured Files - backup files for each camera that are constantly updating. I have been getting "no room on startup disk" error messages on my mac mini. I assume these files are taking too much space? How can I move them to the external drive? Thank you.

Hi - yes indeed SecuritySpy creates these "backup files" on the startup disk in the ~/Documents/SecuritySpy/ folder - because this is a location that SecuritySpy can rely on to store important files that will continually be available even if external drives become unavailable.
However these backup files are small (they do not contain any video data; just information about where data is located in the actual capture files). So if you are getting disk full errors this must be because your disk is getting full anyway and you need to delete some other files to make some space.
Hope this helps.
