No PTZ controls

Dumb old Foscam R2, one of 4 currently in use. Connected via wifi. 2 days ago it stopped connecting with Security Spy. Tried every sort of reboot/reset option multiple times to no avail. I can no longer pull it up in a browser because it only ever worked with Safari by installing some sort of plugin and the plugin now seems to be defunct, maybe having something to do with the move up to High Sierra. So can't get into the firmware.

I was finally able to get it going tonight, using Foscam's awful proprietary desktop application (tried the phone app to no avail) but now I have no control over the PTZ via Sec. Spy (and no other way) - just a static image.

Suggestions on what to try? I tried disabling and reenabling PTZ support (checkbox) a few times but doesn't do it, thanks.

  • This could be down to the particular profile that has been selected for this camera in SecuritySpy under Settings > Cameras > Device. Try the "Foscam H.264/H.265" profile and the "ONVIF" profile in turn - does one of these allow pan/tilt control?

  • Thank you Ben. No connection under ONVIF profile. The Foscam H.264 profile is the one I've been using/am using now.
