iOS app feature request - please add a skip 5-10 seconds *backwards* button
Hi Ben,
I love the iOS app, but something that drives me absolutely crazy is trying to hone in on a specific event on a long video (e.g. a 1-hour continuous capture segment). I have to get close, then I use the 5 second skip forward button, but if I miss the event, I have to go back to manually scrubbing with my finger to rewind. With long videos, this is incredibly difficult and clumsy.
I feel this could be easily solved by simply adding a skip backwards button similar to the 5 second skip forward button that already exists.
In a previous discussion on this, you were concerned bout screen real estate for doing this. I'd argue having a skip back is far more useful than that additional fraction of line for scrubbing. But if you felt strongly about that, I'd like to at least make a case to please add it for the landscape orientation where the scrub line is super long already.
I also think having a different time for the backwards button would add value (e.g. use 10 seconds for skip backwards, and 5 seconds for skip forward). But that's more nuanced.
Thank you in advance!!

Thanks for the feedback, we are definitely planning to add this function - always for the iPad, and in landscape mode on the iPhone. We will either make this fixed 10s, or will implement some new settings so that users can decide the best skip values for them.
