FPS keeps dropping on new camera

I recently added a new camera to my system and am experiencing an issue where if I set the bitrate above 4096, my frames per second in Security Spy starts dropping significantly (to like 1-2 fps instead of 15fps). I don't have this issue with other cameras. This is causing problems with the motion detection since the frames can't keep up. Toggling between 264 and 265 doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

Any suggestions on what to investigate?

    Did a little more investigation into this and it seems like it's the Amcrest NVR I'm using that's causing the issue. When I route the camera through a PoE switch, it works perfectly at high bitrates. Not sure why this camera isn't playing nice with the NVR, but it's not Security Spy that's having issues.

    Great to hear that you worked out the problem. If the video stream was going via the NVR to get to SecuritySpy, it could have been due to insufficient processing resources in the NVR - it's always better to have a direct connection between the camera and SecuritySpy for optimum performance.
