Options for footage from an old CCTV camera mount

We've got an old CCTV style camera at the top of a 20' pole which needs replacement.

In a world where we can't replace the cabling with ethernet, we'd be looking at using a camera like

Dahua N55CS5 and converting it with a device like a Dahua LR1002-1E

  1. Would securityspy be able to handle the input from the Dahua LR1002-1E ?
  2. Would the fisheye aspect of the cctv camera present a different issue?

Obviously we'd rather go with ethernet and a modern IP camera, but in case we can't..

  • This solution should work well. With the LR1002-1E, you can use any IP camera at the top of the pole while keeping the existing cabling. The N55CS5 camera would be a reasonable choice, although with such a high pole, plus the distortion of the fisheye camera, plus the moderate resolution, you won't get particularly detailed images. Instead, take a look at the IPC-PDBW82041-B360-S2 - it's not much more expensive, and provides you with effectively four independent 5-MP cameras in one housing, which will give you great coverage of the entire surroundings.
