HikVision Motion Triggers vs Object Detection
Have a question regarding the use of the camera triggers when using Hikvision cameras.
When setting the Video Trigger to None and using the camera trigger of Motion Detection, I get a generic alert saying Motion Detected (not person, animal, etc). My question then is there any performance advantage to using the Camera trigger if I need to enable the video trigger to determine what objects were detected?
Or, does the AI only analyze objects after the camera trigger triggers? What I am trying to do is minimize bandwidth usage by having the camera do the detection, but have SS do the object analysis when the camera indicates motion or PIR. Not sure if this is possible.
Thanks!

In order to use SecuritySpy's AI object detection, you must enable SecuritySpy's own "Video Motion Detection" trigger so that the motion analysis is done by SecuritySpy, not the camera. This motion detection function not only detects movement, but passes on the location and size of the moving object to the AI so that it can accurately classify it.
On the other hand, the camera's own motion detection can be used to trigger recording, but it is a simple on/off message that is sent by the camera, and in this case the AI cannot be used.
Therefore, my suggestion for accurate recording would be to use SecuritySpy's motion detection combined with the particular AI object detection options that are suitable for your needs (e.g. enable the Human option if you need to detect humans).
