How to Train the AI...

Is there any way to train the AI by sending false positive images? I have a tree where the shadow sets off the motion detection even when I the thresholds at 100.

  • Yes - you can enable the option in the option in the General settings to send us (anonymous) images from your cameras. This will help us train the next generation of the algorithm.

Normally, trees are quite effectively filtered out, but every now and then there's a scene where something in it triggers the AI, and it's not always obvious what is causing it. This section of the user manual may help: Achieving Effective Motion Detection.

  • Thanks Ben,

I already have the shared option turned on, so that step is completed.

With the new machine I am good to handle a higher frame rate so took that as a potential fix from the article. Also upped the trigger duration from 1.5 to 2 seconds. Changed the camera exposure setting to 1/60th from 1/30th.

There should be perfect conditions for this to happen again this afternoon/evening. Will see how the changes play out.

  • Hi Peter,

Thanks for sharing images from your cameras, this is very helpful.

The changes you made all sound positive, so I hope these have made a difference.

  • Last night I didn't get any false positives, but the wind and sun also didn't materialize as I had hoped. Will update as I monitor.
