How much resources does Multiplex use?
I have 3 wall-mounted iPads on which I have SecuritySpy running 24/7
These are live feeds of all 7 of my cameras
If I want to run multiplex views and have them cycle 2 cameras at a time I'm wondering if there's a way to know how resource intensive this would be compared to my current setup as described above?
Thank you

It's difficult to compare different situations like this, mainly because the processing load that this puts on the Mac running SecuritySpy is going to be additional video encoding tasks, which are hardware-accelerated and therefore don't show up in regular resource usage metrics. The main ways to check resource usage and to verify there aren't any issues with a particular setup are as follows:
- Open Activity Monitor, select the CPU tab at the top, and look at the "Idle" percentage shown at the bottom of this window. As long as this is more than 20% or so, the Mac has enough spare CPU processing capacity.
- Check SecuritySpy's log file (File menu > Open Log) for any messages related to video processing, such as "decoder overload". These messages could indicate that the Mac's hardware-accelerated video processing capabilities could be overloaded.
- In the viewing client, check for unusually low frame rates (i.e. how smooth the video is) - low frame rates here could indicate that the Mac can't encode video at a very high rate (unless of course the frame rate of these streams has been specifically set low on the client or server).
