It does not come with a power supply, you have to purchase that separately.
It does not have hardwire CAT cable connectivity, uses WiFi only. Its WiFi connection has been reliable, maybe because I installed a WiFi repeater within 10 feet of it.
The price has gone up since I bought it... now listing at $216 + shipping at B&H Photo. It was $154 when I bought it there.
As mentioned elsewhere, SS sees it as a 5MP WiFi cam, while it also rings your phone as a doorbell when someone presses the button.
i too am looking for a video doorbell that works with SS
I’m considering the Dahua DB61 but then noticed it’s in the LincX2Pro family which are supposedly restricted to Dahua NVRs (this info is in the SS compatible camera list)
I really like the Reolink video doorbell - if you’re able to lay an Ethernet cable to your door it does PoE and has a reliable network link as a result. The chime is via a wireless module that plugs into a socket in the house.
The Reolink looks nice. A few reasons I would hesitate on buying it...
Lack of H265 format
I'd like to have an ethernet connection, but just to connect to the WiFi repeater at the gate. I don't have POE capability at the remote doorbell location, so would need to use a regular power supply, which is not included.
The price is less than half the price of the Dahua doorbell, though, so it seems be a good value for a 5MP doorbell.
Sorry about the two blank entries above... I was troubleshooting something and thought I had it fixed...twice...and the fix undid itself twice within the 1 hour editing window, so I deleted it twice.
I think I really got it this time.
The Dahua DH-DB61 literature says it will capture at 15 FPS, but mine had been stuck at 10 FPS ever since I got it. Yesterday I discovered it was set by default to PAL. When I saw that and changed it to NTSC, I started getting 15 FPS right away. I thought that was the fix, but it dropped back down to 10 FPS within a few minutes.
I tried again, and included a restart in the routine, and it bumped back up to 15 FPS again, but then dropped off again shortly thereafter.
Tonight I noticed in the DahuaConfig app that there was a firmware update available. After reading about Dahua firmware updates sometimes breaking other things that were working, I decided to hold my breath and do the upgrade.
It upgraded to version 1.000.0000000.9.R.230423
After the upgrade I started getting 15 FPS immediately, and that's still holding. Hopefully nothing else broke.
I left the setting on NTSC, and would be interested if anyone can explain why or why not that might be good, bad or indifferent thing.
It hasn't held the 15 FPS with much consistency...
Because it's WiFi only, I can't physically attach it to, or permanently associate it with a specific unit of my eero mesh system. Any time there's a power outage or a re-boot of the eero system, the cam will connect with the first eero that comes online, which is invariably one with a weaker signal, and drop back to 10 FPS. My workaround for this is to set the Dahua to reboot every morning at 1 AM. When it reboots, it connects to the strongest signal, which is where it is able to send 15 FPS.
I would like to have an H.265 doorbell with ethernet, but haven't seen one yet.

I've been happy with the Dahua DH-DB61.

Hey Sawmill,

Were there any tricks to get it to work with SS?
Thanks for any info.
No tricks I can recall.
SS has a Dahua Technology profile that sees it and makes it work.
Dahua has a Config Tool interface for Mac that I use to find its IP address if it hops off the one it's been on.
That happens sometimes when there's a power outage.
It looks like 10 FPS is the best I can do on my network with it.
The lens is good, it's a 5MP image and has been very reliable.
The image is surprisingly good to me, considering how tiny the whole thing is.
My WiFi access point is only about 5 feet from the doorbell.
Here's another discussion about this doorbell.
